acid adjacent

This work marks the fourth EP that I've finished. My goal was to make something Acid House adjacent. Since I didn't possess a 303 bass machine at the time, the "acid" bass sound relied on my remarkably inexpensive Volca Bass machine. It did the job, though the acid bass ended up sounded at least a little jank.

The kitschy horror theme was inspired by both Lynch's Twin Peaks (obviously) and the soundtrack works of Wendy Carlos. I'm not going to act like I'm a champion of Lynchian horror, but I do take a liking to Lynch's use of absurd situations. Regarding Wendy Carlos, there's a certain atmosphere to the kind of mid '70s horror soundtrack that she helped pioneer. It's so distinguishable. I hoped to captivate some of that in this EP's interludes.
